Christmas pud - Steam or microwave?

Do you think steaming or microwaving is better for a Christmas pudding?

2 hours in the steamer seems a long time when it micros in minutes. Is it nicer as a result?

If it's one I slaved over and made myself, then steaming

If it's a good quality shop bought one- then 2 mins ping!

It's a shop bought one. Looks yum. My mum always does microwaving shop bought. Figures it's been cooked enough by the manufacturer.

In cooking a ham for 6 hours today so making effort with the pus doesn't seem silly Smile

I'm microwaving my homemade slaved over one...mil has done the taste test already and she declared the ping to be v successful.

Microwave. It's the reason my parents finally bought a microwave.
8 minutes or so for the biggest pud, no risk of boiling dry, saves energy... and means we eat way too much Christmas pudding.
