How long do chocolates last?

I have some Dr Who moulds and I am going to make some little bags of chocolates for my brother and my DS's for Xmas presents.

Would they be ok if I made them today while I have some free time?

Thanks.

They keep for ages, surely! The only time they might NOT keep is if you can't resist the temptation to eat them yourself.

Provided chocolates are stored in cool, dry conditions they will keep for months, if not a few years. When I lived in Kenya, chocolates there (that came from UK presumably) could have a kind of purplish 'bloom' on them, but were still perfectly edible. But that was fifty years ago, so I dare say modern transport and storage has improved that situation.

Happy cooking, and Christmas!
