so exactly how thick should cheese sauce in lasagne be?

I'm guessing not so runny that it immediately mixes in with the meat layer below?

Er no.

Will mix a bit though.

Thicken with some corn flour if too thin.

Lasagne was lovely even with it's runny sauce! The dish I cooked it in was too small and it ran over the sides but overall DH was very pleased and DD ate it ALL!! Which is unheard of in our house. DS as usual refused it because it's 'disgusting'. Can't please everyone I guess.
