Does anyone make water kefir?
I got some grains from the health food shop a few weeks ago and have been experimenting with what I already had in (Demerara sugar/lemon juice/fresh ginger) but it's horrid!
I feel like giving up, the end result is like syrup, tastes like it smells and I've never had any bubbles!
I'm trying to make it for my MIL suffering with bowel cancer, but I can't give her this!
I bought some rapadura sugar, would that give better results?
I've been brewing the grains for 48 hours in a kilner jar (lid off), then straining into another kilner jar with the lid on and storing for another 48 hours in a cupboard. Am I doing something wrong?
Any alive would be most appreciated, different websites say different things...
