Have following ingredients:
Prosecco
Amaretto
Vodka

Obviously, will buy mixers, fruit juice etc. Don't want to splash out on any more alcohol.

Quite like idea of,using cranberry juice for a bit of festive colour.

Prosecco/Champagne go very well poured over a shot of vodka with a slug of fruit juice added (so that covers your Prosecco/vodka bit). Leave the vodka in the freezer until the last possible minute, then drop a shot into a glass, then fill by a further third with the fizz and top the final third with the cranberry or orange.

Word of warning though - it does tend to go down slightly too easily so you may find it disappears quickly. Xmas Grin

Amaretto I can't help you on though - maybe buy a cheap coffee liqueur from Aldi/Lidl and combine? Or mix with Malibu and pineapple for a retro effect?

Thanks moonlight I like the sound of the fruity vodka cocktail.

I've splashed out on a Monin syrup, gingerbread flavour to mix with prosecco a la Nigella's Christmas in a Glass.

It'll either be scrumptious or very very sickly Xmas Smile

Vodka & amaretto over ice - used to drink it all the time when I lived in the US.

BaconAndAvocado · 21/12/2013 19:33

Ooh that sounds lush!

Mrswellyboot · 21/12/2013 19:47

Put the amaretto in your coffee !

I know how to party .. Lol

StressheadMcGee · 21/12/2013 23:23

I know that you said that you don't want to buy more alcohol, but this is lush, and perhaps you could substitute in ginger beer to keep the cost and number of leftover bottles down.

I can't remember what it's called but I used to do amaretto, vodka and milk / cream.

AlaskaNebraska · 22/12/2013 08:00

amaretto sour is delicious

Turnipsandsproutswithtinselon · 22/12/2013 08:05

Jennimoo I think that is a White Russian?

Taffeta · 22/12/2013 08:07

Sea breeze - Vodka cranberry and grapefruit juice. I use pink grapefruit, lovely colour.

Got any vermouth? Goes v well w amaretto over ice.

jennimoo · 22/12/2013 20:25

I think a White Russian is kahlua and vodka but it's been a while since I've had one so could be wrong.

BaconAndAvocado · 23/12/2013 16:33

Had drinks party yesterday and Monin syrup was highly disappointing Xmas Sad

Very very heavy and sickly, as predicted!

The prosecco, vodka and cranberry mix went down well though.

Got the syrup from amazon drink but think I'll save for a latte or hot chocolate.

Like the sound of amaretto, milk and vodka Xmas Smile

For a longer drink I rather like just amaretto and milk too Blush

BaconAndAvocado · 23/12/2013 21:33

Oooh yes, the gingerbread syrup, works soooo much better in a mug of latte.

Bloody gorgeous Xmas Smile

Glad the prosecco mix went down well - and you've found a use for the syrup and amaretto. Xmas Smile

Merry Christmas!
