When i bake a mince meat pie, the pastry always sticks to the bottom of the plate during cooking. When i serve it up it cuts messy. Can anyone advise on how to stop the pastry sticking.I normally use a dinner plate floured before i roll pastry on it.

You don't grease the plate with butter, lard or oil?

To avoid a soggy bottom. :) Non-stick, heavy gauge pie plate - I like 'Tala' brand - plenty of grease and not too much liquid in the pie filling.

Lakeland have some great enamel pie plates, not chip, dishwasher safe, and for a few pounds.

Yes the Tala metal pie plate is really good and the pastry wasn't soggy. Lakeland sale
