Bolognese pasta bake - do I cook the pasta first?

All set to build my lasagne but I have run out of lasagne sheets and so has Tesco Express! So pasta bake it is. Can I just pretend my fusilli is lasagne and put it in dry?

This is a really rookie question, isn't it?

Cook it first (but slightly under cook it). It would take ages to cook from dry in the oven.

I've always cooked the pasta first until al dente. It won't need as long in the oven as lasagne.
