i saw this a couple of weeks ago, do you think i could make one using chocolate swiss rolls and just sort of mould it into shape?

With loads of chocolate icing. Yum. Reckon it ought to be possible.

what is the black thing around it's neck? and when do you think i should make it, i don't want it to melt

Liquorice (sp?)? Can you get long strings of it?
