Are cheatin celebration roasts nice (vegetarian)?

I saw some cheatin roasts in Holland and Barrett today. Are they nice? I am thinking of trying one for Christmas dinner this year. Either that or a nut roast from Morrisons.

Any advice regarding vegetarian roasts would be gratefully received.

Thank you

I really really love the turkey roast (wrap in foil and bake for 45 mins), it is moist when warm and lovely cold too. I like it because it goes so well with gravy (bisto red is veggie), potatoes and all the other trimmings and isn't too heavy. I had the gammon one last year and thought it was too salty, beef one is ok, but turkey is the best imho.
Might be best to try one out before the day too.

i don't like them at all. tbh i'm not keen on fake meat at all though

thank you earlyriser it sounds lovely, will definitely try the turkey one.

Hi bundaberg I dont eat fake meats very often so I might not like it either, just fancy something easy this year that will go with all the usual veg. Thank you

I hope you like it.
I got a vegusto one the other week and i found it disgusting- it had sliced carrots in it ffs! So I am guessing even if you like fake meats, this may not be to your taste, but I don't think it has a particularly strong taste, unlike the vegusto one.
We can't have nut roasts as family member is allergic so this does instead.

Thank youearlyriser. I have bought the cheatin turkey roast and ordered a nut roast. I havent seen a vegusto roast in the shops here. I think I may have the nut roast for Christmas dinner and keep the cheatin turkey roast for another day. My mum just told me she has bought me a couple of quorn roasts so I now have too many roasts!! Last year I had cauliflower in a cheese sauce with the potatoes and veg and really enjoyed it.

That gammon one is the worst thing I have ever had in my mouth.

do report back and let us know how it tasted

I have just cooked a Turkey one and am going to carve it and put in the fridge to have later. I tried a bit and agree with earlyriser it is very moist and I am sure it will go lovely with gravy. I will buy some of the red bisto. Thanks for the cooking instructions and gravy suggestion earlyriser. I have kept the celebration one that comes with sausages wrapped in bacon for christmas day or sometime during the holidays.
