Christmas pudding in slow cooker

I'm cooking my Xmas pudding in the slow cooker today. When eating on Xmas Day it normally gets steamed again - is this because it NEEDS steaming again or just to heat it up? We won't be eating it hot on Xmas Day as it will be used cold in a recipe, so do we need that second steaming or is this first one enough to cook it? TIA.

We heat it up in the microwave but the purists demand more steaming...depends how fussy you are.

The first steaming cooks it. The second steaming is just to hear it up again in an easy way that is not time-sensitive (as long as you start it early enough!)

Cool, thanks!
