What can we drink in the evenings?

DH and I have decided to cut out our bottle of wine in the evenings other than at weekends. Question is, what else can we drink in the evening? Neither of us likes Coca Cola or Fanta etc, and I get bored with drinking glass after glass of water, as I drink so much in the day.

Too hot for tea etc.Can anyone suggest something? What do you drink in the evenings?

TIA

Schloer? Fruit teas?

MamaG · 17/07/2006 12:12

Just fruit juice in our house. Or beer.

i'm doing exactly the same - cutting out my 2 glasses of wine sunday to thursday. when the weather's like this i tend to stay on water or have the odd can of diet coke, but i remember someone on here suggesting elderflower cordial. put it in a wine glass and try to pretend it's the real deal!

Elderflower cordial is lovely and refreshing.

drinking tea or coffee when you usually fancy wine sort of takes the alcohol craving away or non alcoholic wine?

MamaG · 17/07/2006 12:20

I sometimes drink a non-alcoholic wine called Ame (I think) - its really nice

HunieBunie · 17/07/2006 14:17

non-alcoholic beer (especially good quality one eg Becks), bit of a cheat, but works!

melrose · 17/07/2006 14:20

Ame very nice, as is belvoir elderflower stuff, both quite pricey, but cheaper than wine! I drank them out of a wine glass when pregnant as hated not being able to drink wine! co-op do some yummy stuff too. All nice as not too sweet

CountessDracula · 17/07/2006 14:22

second alcohol free Becks it is great

Also

Bitter lemon
Orange Juice and tonic mixed
Ginger Beer (lashings of)
Virgin Marys
Grape Juice
Peach nectar

And alcohol free Cobra is very nice too.

Here's something funny about the Belvior Elderflower stuff - the elderfloers could be from anywhere in the area, including roadsides, because the company just advertises in the local paper for bags of elderflowers. They pay per KG!
