The school where I work has a form group classroom decorating contest, my form has decided this year that we will have a unique selling point of everything being edible - it all has to be homemade anyway, and everyone else fills their classroom with paper snowflakes and paper chains.

I was thinking of ginger biscuits with holes in to bake with crushed boiled sweets, to hang from ribbon across the room (I.e. stained glass window biscuits) Does anyone have other good simple ideas that might work - needs to be suitable for year 7, mainly boys, to bake, with assistance at home. We have one wide windowsill that we could use, but not really any other flat surfaces.

Baked goods, or just edible?

We always strung popcorn on thread (can alternate with fresh cranberries for more colour, but more expensive). Could work well.

Peppermint cream snowflakes?
Lakeland christmas biscuit tree? - different kids make different sized starts, and stick together at school?
Some ideas here but I wouldn't describe all as edible immediately! Garlic anyone??

I love the popcorn/cranberry idea!

Also need to mention anything nutty banned!
