American Biscuit Recipe. Buttermilk?

I'm making some American biscuits for Thanksgiving at a friends tomorrow and have been hunting for a traditional recipe as I don't want to just rock up with scones some recipes have buttermilk and others don't. which is better? any other tips? thank you

Buttermilk will make it taste more authentic, I think tesco sell it.

buttermilk adds taste, but also acidity which will help the biscuits (I assume you mean American biscuits, Brits call them scones) rise.

I'd use a recipe with it in. if you don't have any buttermilk you can create a substitute. - Google for it, have used it very successfully in the past,but mind gone blank as to ingredients!
