I'm making some American biscuits for Thanksgiving at a friends tomorrow and have been hunting for a traditional recipe as I don't want to just rock up with scones Wink some recipes have buttermilk and others don't. which is better? any other tips? thank you Thanks

Buttermilk will make it taste more authentic, I think tesco sell it.

buttermilk adds taste, but also acidity which will help the biscuits (I assume you mean American biscuits, Brits call them scones) rise.

I'd use a recipe with it in. if you don't have any buttermilk you can create a substitute. - Google for it, have used it very successfully in the past, but mind gone blank as to ingredients!
