Easy tasty dinner for first guests in new house

Just moved into our new house, and am looking like a hippo at 34/52. Really want to cook my DB/SIL something nice as our first proper guests this weekend, but don't want to be on my feet for ages.
Any top ideas? I don't have a slow cooker but otherwise have got all my kitchen stuff unpacked. Will probably do a roast for Sunday dinner so looking for something tasty and easy for Sat dinner....
Brain is empty these days Wink

Pasta with a nice ready made tomato sauce, grated cheese. Add some fried garlic and herb mix to add flavour. Serve with a green salad

Steak, salad and oven chip - French fries.
Easy!

One of the easiest things I do is chicken with mango sauce: brown as many chicken breasts as you have guests, then mix a pot of double cream with a few tablespoons of mango chutney. Pour over chicken breasts and put casserole in the oven on about 180 degrees C. It will take approximately an hour, but is ready when the sauce is gloopy. Delicious.

Cheers all. I'm going to take all three ideas and see if chicken/steak is on a BOGOF at the supermarket as my way of picking - that'll be dinner. Yay

Salmon fillets with salad, lovely breads etc.

Then a big chocolate torte for pud.
