put one of those 10p packs of haribo sweets in her backpack to eat on the coach in secret with her friends (I would imagine strictly verboten by teachers)

Enid in rule breaking shocker

yes

zephyrcat · 13/07/2006 17:02

Definately!!

KTeePee · 13/07/2006 17:02

We've been specifically told no sweets - secretly I think it's a bit of a shame - I have fond memories of school trips being one of the few times as a child when we positively gorged on sweets

trinityrhino · 13/07/2006 17:02

yup

Marina · 13/07/2006 17:02

yes I think I possibly would.
But I'd quietly leave them to be found in a pocket IYSWIM so you could say "golly gosh they must have been left over from one's picnic" when challenged by an enraged vomit-spattered teacher/parent helper.
Or also furnish dd1 with a small Green and Black's bung in case of discovery.

NomDePlume · 13/07/2006 17:03

Yes, they are tiny bags, it's not like you are sending her with a kilo of the stuff.

Enid - Head's office NOW

Enid · 13/07/2006 17:17

in all other respects her packed lunch is exemplary

can it be used as mitigation?

Er, I wouldn't because they make ds1 bounce off the walls (I didn't know this till last week when dh gave them a small amount after tea and they went beserk leading to complete nightmare bedtime 'non routine').

I know at least 2 of his friends react quite spectacularly to them as well and that could be a bit of a disaster on a school trip where they need to be under control.

Blimey - can't believe how over analysed that is!!

noddyholder · 13/07/2006 17:40

Ds has trip tomorrow and am putting sweets in too and am usually a stickler for mega healthy Let them have some fun I think we are too strict sometimes She will be so happy when she sees them

Twiglett · 13/07/2006 17:41

no I wouldn't

foxinsocks · 13/07/2006 18:01

I put in some boiled sweets (but did so because dd has a tendency to get travel sick so thought they were probably the lesser of two evils )

you could put them in her lunch box and she can just have them as part of her pud

foxinsocks · 13/07/2006 18:02

(hope ComeOveneer isn't watching because I was ranting the other day about how good dd's diet was for her teeth!)

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 13/07/2006 18:50

no choc we've been told, which is fair in this heat LOL!

But to answer your question, yes and may well do so.
