I've just made popcorn for the first time, but I haven't made any flavouring. I'd like to try both sweet and savoury ideas.

If it's air-popped and you want it salted, it's a good idea to mist it with a bit of olive oil so that the salt sticks.

VivaLeBeaver · 24/11/2013 19:02

I just shake some icing sugar over it.

Cogito, do you mean in a saucepan? In which case, it was. DH would like salted I think.

Viva, that sounds nice. I might try icing sugar mixed with cinnamon.

Do you like marmite? Melt some in some butter and stir through.

Or if you fancy sweet - Marshmallows melted with some butter, stir through and then add sprinkles to taste!

I actually have a popcorn recipe book but I can't get it now because the dog is keeping my lap warm. Smile

Oh, we'll definitely try both of those, thanks MotherShip Smile.

You can buy all kinds of popcorn seasoning over here in jars. Everything from sweet, salty and cheesy to cinnamon.

OlyRoller · 24/11/2013 19:18

Butter, garlic salt, tabasco and grated parmesan.

Air-popped usually in a machine. If you've cooked it in a saucepan you've probably started it off with a little oil.

UnicornsPooGlitter · 24/11/2013 20:20

Ah, thanks, Cogito.

Toffee sauce - butter, sugar and golden syrup heated in pan til sugar melts.
Or add milk/cream to make caramel sauce.
Mmm.

Lovely, Miffy, thanks. That's right up my street Smile.
