for a works Christmas party we all take a dish or two, there are a few vegetarians and a couple of vegans.

A large gado gado salad, YUM

FiscalCliffRocksThisTown · 24/11/2013 14:27

Or baba ganoush with flat bread

Helpyourself · 24/11/2013 14:27

Hummus and nachos
Tapenade
Salsa
Beetroot dip
Little toms
Nuts
Crisps
You could go as lazy- bag of nuts, or impressive as you like- home made hummus or tapenade with artisan tortilla chips and crostini.

thereistheball · 24/11/2013 14:33

Go Lebanese or Indian, ie hummus, moutabal, tabouleh, etc, or chickpea dal, bombay potatoes etc.

JulesJules · 24/11/2013 14:35

Tabbouleh (you would have to leave out the feta cheese to make it vegan)
Stuffed vine leaves or vegetable spring rolls, falafels or mini samosas/bhajis etc (shop bought, check label)

ChutesTooNarrow · 24/11/2013 14:41

Roast aubergine, courgette, peppers, red onion, mushrooms and mix with quinoa or cous cous.

Chickpea, olives, tomato and cucumber salad (although would normally add feta to this!)

ivykaty44 · 24/11/2013 15:08

thanks for the ideas -I make a chickpea curry but not a dal - would it be good cold?

I do make hummus so may do that and some dips along with a cous cous salad - shall go and look for a recipe Smile

All sounds lovely. Yum Yum can I come!

MadameDefarge · 24/11/2013 15:54

if you can get hold of the tiny pittas they are great for holding things like falafel and the other veggie things outlined about, also you can use little gem lettuce leaves as a container for salady fillings

CogsworthAndJerry · 24/11/2013 16:53

Is it sad that hummus and nuts were the first things that came to mind? I shall be watching with interest to get some ideas myself.

MadameDefarge · 24/11/2013 16:57

for dips - white bean dip is delicious, proper guacamole, hoummous with moroccan spices and caremilised onions, maybe stuffed into cherry toms. be lavish with fresh herbs and spicing. peanut satay dip also gorgeous.

MadameDefarge · 24/11/2013 16:58

spicy cauliflour fitters, also courgette ones.

hellokittymania · 24/11/2013 17:09

Is it possible to get Vietnamese vegetarian food in the UK? Banh Uoc (fresh spring rolls) or banh beo, etc?

MadameDefarge · 24/11/2013 17:12

Im in East London and we have loads of Vietnamese supermarkets and restaurants here. Anything special you need? I'm sure I could pick some up for you.

MadameDefarge · 24/11/2013 17:13

Unless its frozen of course!

Publicproperty · 24/11/2013 17:27

Hugh Fearney-Whittingstall has a recipe for a very nice Cambodian wedding day dip, which can be eaten hot or cold.

Publicproperty · 24/11/2013 17:29

Recipe is Here.

MadameDefarge · 24/11/2013 17:33
