Calling all owners of breadmakers!

After debating for years wether to buy a breadmaker I was lucky enough to get one from freecycle this week Grin

I'm so impressed that I'm having toast for dinner tonight. Does anyone have any recipes that are a little bit different and always work? I like all bread but tend to buy seeded types for say to day use. I'm also partial to any sweet breakfast type bread.

Thank you :)

I make apricot and almond in mine for breakfast toast - its on the Panasonic breadmaker website, they have lots of recipes up.

What make of breadmaker is it? Have you googled an instruction manual that might have some recipes?

Also, supermarkets sell bread mixes

EnglishGirlApproximately · 22/11/2013 20:33

That sounds lovely, I'll check the site out.

Its a cookworks from Argos and it does have a few recipes in the manual but they're fairly basic, mostly variations on a white loaf.

Chocolate bread is nice too. Think the recipe came with the breadmaker, though

Mine is brilliant for making perfect pizza dough. Plus Italian herb bread is lovely.

I'm also supposed to be able to make cakes in mine. I tried - it was minging!

Also - make sure you only use strong white flour. I ran out last week and used plain....not a very pleasant result.

I really want to try the Pizza dough - I love home made pizza but rarely have it due to how long the process takes. I've made a couple of basic loaves and they've come out well so its time to start experimenting. I've got a honey cake recipe with my leaflet which looked good but I might have a rethink....

omemade pizza with a bread maker takes me 1.20 minutes and 45 minutes is the dough being made.

I use 11 oz of flour and 170 ml of water half a teaspoon of salt and half a teaspoon of yeast

get dough out and roll out, place on an oiled holed round baking tray - £3 from telco and put over half a tinned tom and puree then cheese then topping and mozzarella - we usually have sweetcorn, frozen peppers and cherry tomato

Family favourites here are 5 seed, curry & chutney, olive, pesto & pinenut, plain white and fruit loaf, not very adventurous but all delicious.
