Despite promising myself that my day off would be full of doing nothing, I got peckish and caved.
I've been going through the kitchen cupboards and trying to come up with a couple of new quick and easy recipes for during the week.
Would like to use more veggies and pulses. Have a DD of 2.5yrs and want to introduce her to new flavours.
I came across a small tub of concentrated tamarind paste, but not sure what to do with it. Any recipes or tips for our audience?
Thank you!

I've seen it used in Indian recipes. You could always look at the bbc site and do a recipe search with tamarind paste as the ingredient.

Or else, google 'what to cook with tamarind paste' and see what comes up.

This is the most delicious curry with tamarind - use less chilli if it's for your daughter too.

Tamarind is a lovely flavour - it gives a really distinct sweet and sour flavour. I find it does tend to go better with a strong meat flavour as it tends to balance the flavour of the tamarind.

I use it to make Amai Sauce from the Wagamama recipie book.

Recipe here.

I cook some chicken and noodles, and serve with some cucumber/carrot etc. and the sauce on the side (like in Wagamama). My DC's (4 & 18mos) love it.

For DH and me, I make stir-fry or Amai Udon.
