So I'm making my sisters birthday cake for Friday evening. I have been I'll all week and only been upto baking it today. It's a checkerboard cake and has two layers and has been crumb iced all in the space of a few hours, including doing the school run, two horses, tea, bath and bed for youngest.
I now need to decorate the bastard thing and only have tomorrow evening available. 
Never, ever get so ill you have to sleep instead of bake with a deadline looming.
I'm starting ds2's cake next week for his birthday the week after!
