how naughty are frankfurters?

I love frankfurters!

I've only eaten them in homemade sausage rolls (nigella recipe - roll frankfurters in puff pastry) for kids' parties. Do any of you eat frankfurters in other things? Are they very naughty and should I not start eating them or can I get some ideas for frankfurter meals?

I love frankfurters too!

I chop them up really thinly and fry them to have with either tomato sauce based pastas or in scrambled egg.

I've also had them chopped up in rice salad with gerkins, cheese cubes, olives, peas etc. (I can't remember exactly what goes in rice salad, but it's pretty tasty)

We have a frakenfurter casserole, with white beans and onions in tomato sauce and I shove in any left over veg in the slow cooker. Add chunks of sausage while setting the table. Yum.

I love them and eaten occasionally they can't hurt. Can't wait to make these when DS is older, although I have to confess I did make them for me and DH once with a tomato sauce just for a giggle.

frankfurter spiders!

They are crazy - DD would love that!

I don't speak german but the photos seem to be quite self explanatory!

Frankfurters are rank.
I am always surprised that Nigella uses them despite saying we should try not to use spookily reared chicken and plastic bread.

Goulash my dc adore that recipe. The first time I made it they were amazed. They seem to eat more that way too.

pregnantpause possibly a really stupid question but am just getting into my new slow cooker and that sounds like a yummy recipe - do the frankfurters not just fall apart though if cooked for yonks ? as I say, I could be being thick as you say - add sausages while setting table..

Happy- I make a white bean casserole basically (though, use tinned not dried beans in slow cooker to avoid toxins) then add the chopped sausages at the end for about twenty minutes.

I love frankfurters and I use them in a lentil hotpot.
