What can I make with cod & chickpeas?

I am trying not to spend any money on food as we have quite a lot to keep us going in the freezer & cupboards.

I have taken out some cod today & also have a tin of chickpeas which are gathering dust but don't know what to do with them.

Any lovely ideas please? I have pretty much all spices but don't want anything too spicy as the kids might not eat it.
Preferably would like to serve with rice.....

Thanks!

Just seen the chickpea thread further down.

Lots of lovely ideas. Think I might 'bung' them in some passata with red onion & pepper and some herbs and hope for the best! :)

I made fishcakes yesterday with a spare piece of fish (not enough for two) and some leftover mashed potatoes. Poach and crumble the fish, stir in an egg, about 300g mash and enough flour so that the mixture can be handled. Season well and some parsley or finely chopped spring onion adds flavour. Shallow fry the patties on both sides until crisp and firmed up.
