Any ideas if it could work? Or would the hotdog sausages disintegrate somehow?

I think it would be really yuk. They don't withstand the sort of cooking that batter needs to make yorkshire puddings.

I use vegetarian hot dog sausages and they make a good toad in the hole. Fry them in a little oil in the oven first and get the oil really hot.

They'd be alright if you make individual ones in a muffin tin, I reckon... the cooking time overall is less so I would think that they'd be less likely to burn or go gunky Smile

I chickened out and made a normal one. But still keen on trying with hotdogs. Will try in a muffin tin as suggested, thank you, and report back...
