Recipe says 3tblsp of booze - doesn't seem enough to me! Anyone have any idea if that's enough?

Not enough. I use Delia's recipe but soak the fruit in half a bottle of neat sherry. :o

Right, I'll just do that then. I plan on soaking it for a while so it'll be good and boozy!!

Another one who doesn't measure how much alcohol the fruit goes in! and I soak it for longer (put it in a clip top jar, it really annoyed me having my biggest bowl taken up for so long). Amaretto and cherry brandy favourites for soaking and feeding here

Not enough for sure. I pour a good glug over it and leave for a few days.

And then feed, feed, feed. Hic.

Agree with the OPs Empire I used to make this cake and always soaked the fruit in leftover booze for weeks before in kilner [clip top] jar. It works well and being lazy I'd gently cook it then use it to make the mince pies, puddings etc. no one knew any different Grin.
