How long does it take to defrost mince from freezer to fridge? Thanks!

Over night?

I boil in water to defrost and get some fat put of it.

I always take it out the night before and put it in the fridge. It depends what you want to do with it though. Mince is tiny bits of meat so actually you could probably cook it more or less from frozen (or at least a little bit icy in the middle).

If you're defrosting for later it won't do any harm to put it on the worktop rather than the fridge for a few hours.

My mum cooks it from frozen - she dumps the frozen lump of mince in a pan, and keeps turning it over, scraping off the cooked mince, until she can break it up into smaller and smaller lumps, until it is all cooked.

I put the packet in warm water in the sink. I know this is hugely Frowned Upon, but I haven't killed anyone yet - or made them ill.

I also put it in the fridge overnight, but in a bowl of water as that helps it defrost more quickly.

I would defrost in the fridge for 24 hours, i would leave it sitting out for no longer than overnight but I often cook from frozen.
