Not sure if this should go here or general health really, but thought you wise cooks might be able to help.

Last week we all got norovirus in this house (or so the doctor tells us). On the evening before I got struck down I made a large batch of bolognese sauce. Was sick all that night, so pretty sure I had the bug as I was making the food.

Aside from the fact that I don't feel like spag bol again for some time, should I throw away the batches of bolognese I put in the freezer? Do you think they are now contaminated with the bug? Or am I being precious and silly?

The thought of wasting three meals worth of bolognese makes me sad, but thought of us all being sick again just as bad.

If you reaheat the Bolognese to piping hot before you serve it, the bugs will die. Don't worry.

I wouldn't eat it personally. I once stayed in a ski chalet where the host cooked when she was sick. Which resulted in 14 people vomiting for several days. And the walls were very thin...

If it was norovirus I'd chuck the bolognaise - it's a stubborn little virus that's hard to kill (hence why it's so effective at spreading like wildfire).

Quite honestly I would chuck it. It might waste a tenner but I bet you'd pay more than that not to have noro again.

I just would not take the chance & I bet none of you will fancy it anyhow.

Hope you feel better now.
