...what shall I do to go with italian meatballs (in a tomatoey type sauce obviously). Was just going to do boiled rice but wondered if anyone had anything more inspired to suggest?

Penne pasta is delish!

Tagliatelle is what I'd do.

You can always put it like a sauce over the pasta... I prefer pasta with tomato sauce than rice.. with lots of Parmesan [hungry now icon]

You can do either, I prepare pasta with meatballs myself--but I'm really not an expert!! Same lovely tomato sauce can go with the meatballs and the pasta. Make plain pasta, drain, mix in a bit of your tomato sauce with the dry pasta to keep it from sticking. Place in your bowls, place meatballs on top and then ladle your tomato sauce over the top with a bit of grated parmesan if you have it.

Thanks all. It's only the second time we've had meatballs (I know!!) so not sure of the best way to serve them. Think I'll do the tagliatelle and parmesan on top - that sounds nice!
