Aldi Chicken wrapper 'ballooned'

Hi there, might seem a daft question but I bought a fresh free range chicken from Aldi on Friday, the cellophane wrapper it is wrapped in has ballooned. I've never noticed this before and wondered if it meant anything . Thanks!

I'd be very careful about eating anything that had ballooned - it suggests that there has been high levels of bacterial growth, if it is within it's use by date, it potentially has not been stored properly, can you take it back?

Take it back. Don't open it.

Thanks for the replies will definitely not eat it and will try and take it back. Thanks!

Yeah, take it back. It'll probably be off. Lots of Mner have said Aldi chickens go off quick, and ths has happened to my mum too.

I avoid them for their chickens. Can I recommend the Lidl chicken though? As we had it for Sunday roast yesterday. Was rather delicious :)

I think the comment " aldi chicken go off quick" is unfair . I've had it happen, but also with sainsburys ... I've Aldi chickens great as a rule ( organic or the ready stuffed ones at £4.99 are a bargain!).

They have always been great with returns too- from said chicken to not working technology. No arguments.
