Help! Slow cooker stew and dumplings recipe

Does anyone have a slow cooker stew and dumplings recipe. I've never used my slow cooker before and can't find a recipe online. Can I cook the dumplings in the slow cooker or do I need to cook separately - and if so, how if the stew is in the slow cooker?

My parents are coming for dinner tomorrow so need help!

Cook the stew first in the slow cooker. You can make the dumplings at the same time, but pop them in the fridge until you need them.

Half an hour before the stew is finished, pop put the dumplings in.

Basically they need to steam/stew a bit in the stew to cook and absorb some of the flavours without turning into blobs of yuckiness which would happen if you put them in at the same time

Some people like their dumplings to be a bit crispy on top, an effect you can only get if you transfer the lot to an oven and bake without a lid.
