..is corn starch the American equivalent of corn flour?

I have just bought a slow cooker and some of the recipes include corn starch. I have never used it before.

If not, what is it? Is it an American foodstuff and what is our UK equivalent, if it is?

Sorry, again, excuse my ignorance Blush

It is indeed cornflour.

What you making? I'm thinking of getting a slowcooker but as I'm vegetarian I don't know if it'd be as much use

hi molly, I've downloaded the skinny slow cooker recipe book for food under 300, 400, 500 calories onto my kindle from Amazon.

There are a couple of recipes that use the cornstarch/cornflour which sound really tasty, one of them is called lovely lemon garlicky chicken.

Very easy recipes to make, so suits me down to a tee Grin

Very cheap to download onto kindle £1.99, or buy it in paperback.

sorry molly meant to say, there are vegetarian dishes in the slowcooker recipe books Smile

I've ordered a paperback version of a slow cooker recipe book, but won't receive until the end of the week (super saver delivery), so I downloaded the skinny one while I'm waiting Smile

Btw, I've just checked the 'skinny' book and it has veg options, like wild mushroom risotto and a pasta sauce Smile
