have a rosting joint.
do I rub it in butter and herbs before cooking?
does it need basting?
the pack only gives cooking time, nothing else.

I roast it on top of onions and garlic. Bit of olive oil.
Salt. Pepper. Cook for 1 hour for a 1.5 kg bit. I don't baste, but I do turn it upside down while it's resting.

I just season mine with salt and pepper, brown in the pan and bung in the oven. I don't baste mine.

I think a smearing of mustard on the top would be nice.
