I'd like to get DH one for Christmas this year. Might as well get him something we can both enjoy the fruits of!

Either wine or beer (ale/lager) I don't mind.

Anyone any experience of good ones or ones to avoid?

I bought something called a brewster which does only 10 pints at a time but it was brilliant, easy no faff. I actually used a proper ale in it rather than the one it came with and it was fine. Dss biology teacher said it was the best home brewed he had ever tasted. We bought it from Morrison or equivalent.

You understand this was all about scientific enquiry...
Our ginger beer had not been successful in plastic bottles.

we got the equipment from Wilkinsons, then just pick up mixes from everywhere, seem to remember Scottish export being tasty
