Christmas cake baking time

A while ago I saw a thread by someone who had baked Delia's recipe and said that it had burnt. A few suggestions were to lower the baking time due to modern ovens being hotter - I can't remember what the verdict was as to whether to do this and by how many degrees. Does anyone know please?

I make a cake very similar to Delia's and I tend to cook it for about 3 hours at 130c then the last hour at about 110c (I have a fan oven) with lots of brown paper around the tin and a triple layer on top to stop it browning.

The tin is 23cm.

Good luck and happy baking.

Thanks melody. I baked it yesterday for just on 4 hours. I think it looks done! Definitely not burnt anyway, happily.
