Cooking stews for 6 - 8 + people?

Can somebody please recommend a casserole that does not cost £160 like the gorgeous Le Creuset I have seen.

I cant spend that much on a pot. Hmm But I love cooking good hearty stews when we have guests!

My mum had one like this one when we were growing up.

Thank you! I did not even think about Lakeland!

Slow cooker?
Le Creuset currently 20% off Debenhams online.

Can you get away with using your biggest current casserole and also do side dishes?

So a dish of green beans to serve separately. I often serve Yorkshire Puddings alongside. (Don't flame me traditionalists and my mil!)

I can get away with using my current casserole if I do potatoes as side dish rather than part of the stew.

But my favourite stew is Jules favourite stew, and everything should be bunged in! Aside from bread.

Bhs do on that goes on the hob and in the oven
Lots of different colours
£20

Even Jules' stew would benefit from a yorkshire imho!

I'd save the money on the casserole and do extra potatoes (roast potatoes maybe?) and some other green veg on the side.

Then look for sales bargains.

(By the way I hate using my big cast iron pot as it is unwieldy when full!)
