ds and I are making a long train journey, quite early in the morning, the day after coming back from holiday quite late in the evening. not ideal but unfortunately unavoidable

there is nowhere to get breakfast at the station or en route. normally I would grab some breakfast pastries from the supermarket the night before but that isn't an option this time. It's also a bit dodgy what time we will get somewhere for lunch so needs to be reasonably filling

I need a breakfast I can prepare the week before then stick in the freezer or the cupboard ready.

I dislike brioche else this would be an option and not keen on those individual croissant. if the yummy supermarket pastries could be frozen this would be a really good option but I don't know if they can.

Hoping mumsnet wisdom can help out!!!

I'd have a sort of picnic. Cook some sausages and freeze them. You can eat them cold with some frozen rolls. If you have time you could hard boil eggs the night before to have cold. You could get some of those breakfast bars/cereal bars to snack on. My DCs always thought dry cereal eaten out of a plastic bag good fun (think Cheerios or mini weetabix type-thing).

Definitely Sausage sandwiches :)
