Hi Everyone

I'm planning a birthday party for my DS at end of July and am stuck for ideas as have never been to a kiddies party since I was a kid. What do mums do these days?
I'm planning to invite kids from 9mo to 12yo so need to keep all fed/entertained. I would also like to keep it as relaxed as poss and mostly outside weather permitting but need ideas for indoors should it rain.
PS Do people still do party bags? and if so what do they put in them other than cake? sorry for all the questions. Promise to be more clued up for next year!

I would do boxes of food (like the happy meal boxes) with their names on, that way you can fix the box to the childs age. For babies, you can put pom bear crisps, a Farleys rusk, fairy cake and for the older ones, couple of sandwiches, pack of crisps, sausage roll, choccy biscuit, that sort of thing. One thing about doing this is you don't end up with tons of food wasted.

As for games, it depends on the ages. Kids just like to run riot and have fun. Borrow a music DVD from the library or buy one. I bought a party one from Asda and every one of my friends have borrowed it from me for all age parties. pass the parcel is fun and pin the tail on the donkey. Have lots of balloons blown up for them to play with.

Ooooo have fun, DS first birthday party was magic.
