ok, I used to have a Braun multipractic which I loved (wedding present). And after only 25 years the sodding thing died. I replaced it after much research with a Magimix 4100 which cost an arm and a leg and which I really don't like. I don't know why exactly but 6 years or so later I don't use it that much, I do just pastry and quick mixing in it when in a hurry. Never shred or slice veg or anything and probably use it less than once a week whereas the old Braun was used daily. I am really fed up that now the lid of the bloody thing has split and broken and I am faced with a charge of £29.99 for a replacement. I also looked for more slicing/grating discs as it only came with one (!) and they are £22.99 each!

So, thinking about ebaying said machine and replacing it with something else, but not so big budget this time around.

what would you do? And if you did replace it, what do you recommend? Ideally something for pesto, marinades, grating, breadcrumbs, shredding veg, pastry, caes etc . Don't want stand mixer. Want processor. And I have a great stick blender.
