How do I cook a beef burger?

Ok, the food intolerances of my bf baby have defeated me. I am going to fall off the veggie wagon andtry eating meat as I feel like crap on this diet. I have bought organic beef burgers from a local farm. I have never cooked meat and have no idea what to do. Can someone please help!

Frying pan, a little oil, medium heat turn it over when it looks brown.

And take is slowly at first as you will lack the enzymes to digest meat at first and you may well get stomach aches. You have my sympathy- my vegetarianism has always been thwarted by my own food intolerances. I only feel well when I eat meat, fish, fruit and veg only.

Thanks. And thanks for understanding duchesse.this is a huge moral dilemma for me but I just can't cope on this diet anymore. It's been three months. No one in real life seems to get what the big deal is.

Oh I don't have to force myself to be understanding! I've never managed to be vegetarian for more than a couple of years. There's only so much time you can put up with 20x urgent trips to the loo (iyswim) a day, waking up feeling about 100 and constant abdominal pain a person can put up with. My GPs have all thought there was absolutely nothing wrong with me. Hmm

Were you eating Quorn when you were on a meat free diet? It can play havoc with your stomach.
Would you try something lighter at first, chicken or some fish? As duchesse says, it can take some time for your body to accept meat again after not eating it for a while.

I have eaten fish. I lasted about a fortnight on the dairy, soya and egg free diet before I was about to keel over and die. But even with the fish I feel not great and cannot bear the sight of it after eating it every day for three months. I am eating the burger now and it is okay. Not massively different from a decent veggie burger which is why I chose to start on a burger. And it's only little. Thanks everyone.

Not much Quorn no. I think I have a problem with gluten, particularly with wheat and rye. My sister is properly diagnosed as Coeliac but for some reason my GPs have always thought I'm just a hypochondriac.
