Have leftovers from my veggie box and want to make soup, can you please suggest some nice combinations?

I have:
Corn on the hob
Savoy cabbage
Aubergine
Courgettes
Leeks
Celery
Carrots
Huge turnip

And a reasonably well stocked cupboard with lots of grains/pulses etc.
Thanks!

The turnip suggests Delia's recipe for Punchnep Soup but I haven't made it so can't comment further than that Grin

Cabbage, courgette, leeks and carrots - I would make Minestrone Soup with pasta shapes and a tin if tomatoes - lovely with crusty bread.

Corn on the cob - maybe a corn chowder or Chinese style chicken and sweetcorn soup.

It's homemade Leek and Potato chez Woolly at lunchtime. Smile

Thanks, Wooly, you inspired me to make some leek and potato and some minestrone - it's a rainy Sunday here, so perfect for spending pottering in the kitchen.

Love the sound of Punchnep Soup, but have an irrational hatred of Delia's recipes (for some reason can't seem to read them to the end) Confused so will hunt for someone else's recipe.

Oh I agree re Delia. Everyone seems to rave about her Christmas cake but I dig my heels in and use an old recipe from a book my mum gave me when I got married a million years ago It may stem from making her Beef Wellington and spending an absolute fortune on beef fillet only for it to be a bit soggy and meh - nothing to do with my culinary abilities at all Grin

I would do plain celery soup too. We serve it with cou
Croutons which I fry together with little pieces of chorizo. Nom nom
