DS has decided he wants a lego birthday cake. I have found lots of moulds I can use to make the bricks to decorate BUT what type of icing would I use in the moulds?

Well most moulds need fondant I cing but you could also use melted chocolate if they are silicon moulds

Just get some normal fondant icing & some tylo powder or gum trag (this stuff)

www.amazon.co.uk/Sugarflair-Superior-Grade-Gum-Tragacanth/dp/B005GCM4PG

It makes the fondant harden which will make the bricks better. You could also dust the mould with some cornflour to stop it sticking in the mould.

I made a Lego cake a few years ago with a 4 brick mould & it took ages (but looked great so was worth it)

Sainsburys do a box of Flower and Modelling paste (about £2.50) - it sets very hard and works very well in Lego molds. It has the advantage of drying very quickly so you end up with sharper edges to your bricks. It is totally edible too.
