Freezing cakes, when to ice?

Hello, today is Wednesday, I've baked some coffee cakes and chocolate cakes for Saturday. They're in the freezer right now as they're for a party on Saturday evening.

When and how should I defrost them?

When should I ice them (coffee buttercream and chocolate ganache)?

Thanks

Defrost Saturday morning just by leaving at room temperature (covered - in whatever you froze them in).

Ice Sat pm before you go.
