Dairy & egg free - any cake/biscuit/pudding recipes?

My DS has a friend for tea this week & I'm after pudding ideas (usual yogurt/ice cream are obviously out!) and some sort of post-school treat that I can bake in advance with other DC. We usually do flapjack, ginger cake or just a bog standard victoria sponge so nothing too ambitious please Wink

Flapjack would work, just replace butter with a dairy free alternative spread/margarine thing (do check whether the product is completely dairy free though!)

Sorry I don't know how to do links properly but....

This banana cake is very easy and delicious:

And there are lots of other ideas here:

Isa Chandra Moskowitz at the PPK website above is the queen of vegan baking and every recipe of hers I have used has always been delicious - and she makes proper cakes and puddings, none of that replacing sugar with museli nonsense.

A lot of margerines that you'd think are ok actually contain milk products - I use the brand Pure which is in the marg aisle and and most sainsburys have it. Quite a lot of vegan cakes use canola oil which is just another name for rapeseed oil (available in most supermarkets)

Swedish Glace is a dairy free ice cream and is actually nice (unlike a lot of dairy free alternatives!) - it comes in a hexaganol black container and is in the freezer dept - again most sainsbury's have it and I have seen it in some other supermarkets

Shortbread is nice and fairly simple.

We use Stork (250g) as it's dairy free but funnily enough, the 500g contains buttermilk!
