Food Flasks for packed lunch - do they work well?

We have 2 afternoons where DDs go directly from school to dance/gymnastics and don't get home until after 6pm.

I'm thinking of getting them food flasks and sending hot lunch on those days. Or worst case, to be eaten 6 hours later on way from school to hobby..

Does anybody send hot lunches to school this way?
What recipes work well?

Do you fill it the same way as you would put food on a plate? (e.g. chili con carne - rice on bottom topped with chili, etc?)

I haven't bought the food flasks yet.

I have one recommended by mn. I haven't used it but if I did I would mix the chilli and rice first so not like on the plate.

Which food flask has been recommended by MN?

I do. Little thermos ones from Lakeland. Chilli, Dahl, beamy things. Don't mix carbs with them though. Yuck.

the trick with these flasks is to fill them to the top, even if you know that they won't eat it all.
If it is filled up the contents will stay hotter for longer.
