Diabetic cake recipe needed!

I've promised to make a cake for a get together this Friday. It needs to serve 8.

Has anyone got any nice recipes for a cake suitable for a diabetic? One of my friends has type 2 diabetes, only recently diagnosed and I'd like to make something lovely that we can all enjoy.

Use sweetener instead of sugar? Could make a plain Victoria sponge with strawberries and whipped cream? I'm also type 2. My dear mum makes it for me as s birthday cake hope this helps.x
