Cats eat sh*t too VVVQV.

And the lid on the tin thing doesn;t work.

See cats are picky, like toddlers, but unlike toddlers, they don;t understand bribery.

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 21/06/2006 22:05

but did it say "serving suggestion"?

BadHair · 21/06/2006 22:11

Have you seen the pet food with vegetables in it? Beef with carrots, broccoli and gravy or chicken with leek and mushroom. Excuse me if I'm wrong, but I don't seem to recall fresh veg ever being considered part of a cat's essential nutrients.
FFS!

tallmummy · 21/06/2006 22:14

I saw one yesterday for indoor cats with "added garden greens" Whats that? A bit of grass then?

Blu · 21/06/2006 22:22

All in a jumble my various thoughts are:
-Only Moondog would know it was a radish flower
-celery! But it has no nutrients!
-Has food frenzy on MN reached such a peak that we are now discussing CATFOOD in the same way as a packed lunch?

  • One of thee days I'm going to pick up one of these temptingly packaged dinners and fed it to DS by accident. I am sure countless pensioners blithely tuck into a nice plate of 'Arthur'.
moondog · 21/06/2006 22:23

lol
I saw cat milk today (whatever that is!)
99p for a small bottle.
Formula is cheaper!!!!!!!

never mind garden greens you can get them with herbs in

FrayedKnot · 21/06/2006 22:25

Just looked at cat pouch ingredients - they all contain sugar. Why?!

Lol at cat milk. WTF?

cat milk I can live with - apparently cows milk is bad for them - too much lactose or something. or maybe I'm more gullible than I like to think

FrayedKnot · 21/06/2006 22:29

Well, not on my person.

I will off to the cupboard again.

Blu, psml at your post!

You always have one of the best senses of humour (or should that be sense of humours?) on mumsnet, but that post really takes the biscuit (no pun intended!)

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 21/06/2006 22:32

yeah but no but yeah but it's just 99p every now and then and they do like it

FrayedKnot · 21/06/2006 22:34

Ok.

It is a pack of 4 different flavours.

Beef flavour contains:

"Meat & animal derivatives (of which beef 4%), fish & fish derivatives, minerals, various sugars".

The minerals appear to include ash & copper.

The chicken & fish varieties read exactly the same except each has e.g. chicken 4% or tuna 4%.

So they are all the same mush basically.

moondog · 21/06/2006 22:59

So if the 'beef' comprises only 4% of the contents, wtf is the rest??

Not that it matters, but compare and contrast to glossy brunette shown in adverts, inhaling aforemnetioned garnished product deeply.

Worrying.

FrayedKnot · 22/06/2006 14:24

I suspect 4% is the minimum they have to put in to be able to call it "beef" and assume that basically they have several big pots of unmetionable meat yuk and say something like

"Oi Fred, we're making beef today, bung a bit more of that one in"

And then Fred flicks his fag over the edge..

Gruesome really.

CountessDracula · 22/06/2006 14:26

All pet food has hydrogenated fat in it which causes cancer

I cook veggies and meat for my dog (or give her raw meat) She is SO healthy compared to when she was on that crap in a bag.

CountessDracula · 22/06/2006 14:30

May have to garnish tonight and see if she says "ooh that looks good, presentation is SO important isn't it?"

ProfYaffle · 22/06/2006 14:30

My cats eat fresh organic fare

aka

sparrows

meowmix · 22/06/2006 14:39

I'll have you know that all catfoods are inferior to me. Behold the mighty Meowmix, relaxing among radish flowers, gently wilted oriental greens and served with a well-chilled chablis. You know you're worth it.

meowmix · 22/06/2006 14:42

(sorry I'm at work and getting carried away with all the catfood flavoured excitement)

Chloe55 · 22/06/2006 14:46

Bloody hell CD, wish I had your patience - or does your dog just eat whatever you are making for tea? I feed my dog and cats the cheapest crap form the supermarket (and I am a vet nurse )
