Lunch ideas

Hi everyone

My DD (aged 3) was in full time nursery until recently while I was at work, so lunch was a meal I didn't prepare very often.

Now she is doing half days at school nursery, and I'm on maternity leave so will be giving her lunch every day.

I don't want her to get bored having the same things all the time, so was hoping to gather some good lunch ideas. What do you give your children for lunch? What are the firm favourites in your house?

Hi,
My DS favourite lunch has to be Sweetcorn patties.Really easy to make and can freeze them as well. Also oatmeal, apple and cheese scones &vegetable muffins. All quick and easy to make a big batch up and can freeze

Macaroni cheese with sweetcorn & mushrooms
Spaghetti bolognese (I freeze child sized portions of bolognese after we have it as a family)
Pasta & pesto
Cheese sandwiches
Baked beans on toast
Soup and bread
Pizza

As above, but DD also loves picnic meals eg platters of cheese, salami or ham, carrot sticks, cucumber, olives, cherry tomatoes...

Mine love soup. Any kind, with a lump of bread.(it is a lump, I'm useless at slicingGrin )
Or a more exotic miso soup with veg.and noodles.

toasties (I grate carrot, halve cherry toms and add cheese)

Egg and soldiers

Butter bean.burgers (BBC good food website have them)

New potato and green beans with a Shock fish finger

Egg fried rice

Omelette

Beans on toast

on cold days I give them cauliflower cheese (again with bread) or cheesy mash

Roasted carrot, potato and parsnip chips chips (which is far more enjoyable with ketchup in an egg cup apparently)

My dd won't look at it, but my dsis gives hers rainbow rice- which is roasted veg chopped into cous cous
