Home made mincemeat help

Ok so, it's a long shot but I figures someone here might know. I have lots of home grown apples that I want to make into mincemeat, but can I do this using frozen fruit (which had been steeped in alcohol for months before freezing) instead of dried fruit? Anybody got any advice? TIA

Is the frozen fruit stuff you have already frozen? Or are you planning on freezing our harvest now?

If the latter, then just make the mincemeat using fresh apple. It keeps for years.

Here's Delia's recipe using fresh apples, for eg.

Thanks taffeta. The apples are fresh but I have frozen alcoholic fruit in the freezer, things like rum blackcurrants, gin pink currants etc.

Yuuuum! Would defrost them first, I think, but no reason not to use that I can think of.

Sugar. I suppose that is the difference between fresh and dried.....

The alcohol will preserve the fruit anyway - you don't have to put it in the freezer.

Make up a small batch and see what happens. It sounds delicious.
