I want to be able to make pizza that the dcs will love. At the moment shop bought wins hands down in this house, I think its the dough thats the problem , not cooked, over cooked, stodgy, soggy.....

Try the Good Food website, think it's called pizza in 4 easy steps but can't link on my phone, sorry. Anyway, it's the one I use and it's good! Make sure you preheat the tray that the pizza will be cooked in, helps prevent soggy bottom!

DH just uses a standard bread dough, but gets the base as thin as possible, spreads a small bit of oil on the cooking tray and whacks the oven up as high as it will go (210C here). Shouldn't take more than ten minutes to cook (including toppings).

Yyy to heating the tray first

Sainsbury's do a just add water pizza dough.

I like to add crushed garlic or pesto to the tomato sauce, it makes it tastea bit special :)

thanks, the pizzas were lovely, i think it was probably the heat rather than the JO recipe though.

Surprisingly good pizza base:

300g self raising flour
300g Greek yoghurt
1 tsp baking powder
