Can I still eat this pate?

I bought some nice partridge pate on holiday in Spain. It's in a little glass jar and the lid is sealed (or it was until I dropped it today and the wee poppy bit on the lid popped).

However, it hasn't been refrigerated and Seville was reeeeaaaallly hot. Most of the time it was in our room, which was air conditioned almost always, but we did have one very long, very hot bus ride.

WDYT? Is it still safe if it was sealed? Or should I bin it?

Thanks :)

Open it and check :) Pate smells awful if it's off - you'll definitely know!

I would think if it's in an airtight glass jar it won't matter what temperature it's been stored at anyway.

But if you dropped it today and the lid popped up, that means air will have got in so consider it opened from now on - ie don't shove it back in a cupboard to have later!

Thanks! I've made sure it's refrigerated since I got back. Really glad it should be fine! I already had to chuck my cheese (my own fault for buying soft cheese then deciding to go and sit in a park for four hours in 38 degree heat...)
