I am making chicken and mandarin tagine from the girl called jack blog,i am going to make some spicy cous cous along with it,what can i put in it to make it tasty?

Was thinking chickpeas, maybe sauteed red peppers, cumin, sultanas, but what other ingredients to balance it all out?

I wouldn't put chickpeas into couscous myself.
I wouldn't actually put anything in it as you will have flavourings from the tagine but if you want to beef it up a bit, I'd sauté onions and garlic and spices, then add stock.

We love seeds in cous cous.

I cannot have cous cous without harissa!

Chickpeas in couscous are awesome. Chopped cashews are nice too but ony at the end so they keep their consistency.

oo cashews. That sounds good.

I put a small amount of fenugreek, cumin, turmeric and then fresh coriander and a squeeze of lemon in mine, you want it fresh tasting rather than really spicy to go with something rich and hot like a tagine.

cashews would also go with my recipe. If you don't have fenugreek you could use a little bit of mild chilli powder instead.

I buy one that has fenugreek, tumeric and chilli flakes in it. It's lovely.
